Nora Al-Jarawi is a Yemeni activist and leader in the field of human rights and peace. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Human Resources. In 2016, she founded the Women’s Alliance for Peace in Yemen, a civil framework that brings together more than 1,000 women from various governorates. The organization focuses on issues of detention and displacement caused by the war.
Nora also serves as the head of the Popular Youth Rescue Movement and is considered one of the most prominent voices advocating for women who have been subjected to abduction.
She has extensive expertise in the issue of women detained in Houthi prisons, having led human rights and international efforts to highlight their suffering and advocate for their release.

In June 2021, the Women’s Alliance for Peace in Yemen established the Association for the Protection of Abused Women and Survivors of Houthi Prisons, in response to a grave issue represented by the arbitrary arrests and violations committed against women in Houthi prisons.
The association was created to be the voice of detainees and survivors, serving as a platform to pursue justice, expose violations, and advocate for their rights until they obtain justice and protection.
